During the spring academic quarter, all STLP office locations are open weekdays between Monday, March 31st and Friday, June 13th. All STLP office locations are closed on weekends and holidays (including Monday, May 26th).
STLP is now accepting online equipment reservations for spring quarter. Please be sure to select the desired office location and checkout date before making your equipment selection. Reservations not claimed on the scheduled checkout date are subject to cancellation.
By utilizing STLP, students agree to maintain eligibility requirements and abide by program policies for the duration of their equipment loan.
Equipment Reservations
Starting Wednesday, March 26th, online equipment reservations for spring quarter can be made for most items. Making an advance reservation is highly encouraged to help secure desired equipment. For availability questions, please text 206-685-6090.
First Year Programs (FYP@STLP)
Newly admitted students participating in FYP Advising & Orientation (A&O) activities are eligible to reserve up to one (1) laptop and one (1) Wi-Fi hotspot for a loan period of seven (7) days. Due to FYP requirements, students must reserve either a macOS or Windows laptop computer (iPads are not eligible).
After using the STLP website to make an equipment reservation, students must submit a shipping request by completing the STLP Contact Form. Equipment will be shipped to residential addresses located within the US and contain a prepaid return shipping label.
Once fully registered, students are eligible to borrow STLP equipment starting the first day of the quarter in which they are registered. For assistance during periods when online equipment reservations are unavailable, please email stlp@uw.edu or text 206-685-6090.
Loan Periods
STLP equipment is made available for 10-day, 25-day or 50-day (Full Quarter) loan periods. Loan periods are counted in business days and do not include weekends or UW holidays. Please review equipment descriptions carefully along with all confirmation emails indicating scheduled checkout and return dates. Students may also review the scheduled checkout and return dates of their equipment loan at any time by visiting the My Bookings page. Office Hours & Locations
STLP office locations are open to accept equipment returns as follows:
- Health Sciences (HSI) map: Monday – Friday; 8:30am – 2:30pm
- Husky Union Building (HUB) map: Monday – Friday; 3:00pm – 7:00pm
- Kane Hall (KNE) map: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm

Same-Day Checkout
In-person, same-day checkout of select laptop/tablet computers is available at all STLP office locations. Same-day inventory is extremely limited so this equipment is only made available in-person on a first-come, first-served basis (advance reservations are not accepted). Shipping
If located outside the City of Seattle, UPS shipping is available for select items from the program’s Kane (KNE) office location. Shipping is offered to student residential addresses within the US (City of Seattle, PO Boxes, and international addresses will not be accepted). Equipment items eligible for shipping are denoted with “(UPS).” After using the STLP website to make an equipment reservation, students may submit a shipping request by completing the STLP Contact Form.
Shipping requests for enrolled students will not be accepted after 5:00pm on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025 and all return shipments must be dropped off at a UPS location by 5:00pm on the scheduled return date.
Note: Not all equipment items are eligible for shipping – ineligible items must be claimed or returned in person.
