During the autumn academic quarter, all STLP office location will operate weekdays between Wednesday, September 30 and Friday, December 18. STLP does not operate on weekends or holidays (including November 11, 26, and 27).
STLP is now accepting online equipment reservations for autumn quarter. Please be sure to select the desired office location as well as checkout and return dates before making your equipment selection. Reservations not claimed on the scheduled checkout date are subject to cancellation.
By utilizing STLP, students agree to maintain eligibility requirements and abide by program policies for the duration of their equipment loan.
Equipment Reservations
Starting Wednesday, September 23, online equipment reservations for autumn quarter can be made for most items. Making an advance reservation is required for Health Sciences (HSI), Husky Union (HUB), and Kane (KNE) office locations. For availability questions, please text 206-685-6090.
New Student & Transfer Programs (NSTP@STLP)
Newly admitted and new transfer students participating in NSTP Advising & Orientation (A&O) sessions are eligible to request up to one (1) laptop and one (1) Wi-Fi hotspot for a loan period of seven (7) days. Due to NSTP requirements, STLP will reserve either a macOS or Windows laptop computer. Tablet computers (iPads) are not eligible.
Students must submit their request by completing the STLP Contact Form. Once processed, equipment items will be shipped automatically to student residential addresses and contain a prepaid return shipping label.
Once fully registered, enrolled students are eligible to borrow STLP equipment starting the first day of the quarter in which they are registered. For assistance during periods when online equipment reservations are unavailable, please email stlp@uw.edu or text 206-685-6090.
Loan Periods
Equipment may be loaned between one (1) and forty (40) days as requested during the reservation or checkout process. Please review all confirmation emails, indicating scheduled checkout and returned dates, for accuracy. Office Hours & Locations
STLP office locations are open for regular business hours, Monday – Friday, as follows:
- Health Sciences (HSI): 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Husky Union (HUB): 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- Kane (KNE): 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Odegaard Library (OUGL): 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Same-Day Checkout
In-person, same-day equipment checkouts are available exclusively at the Odegaard Library (OUGL) office location. Same-day equipment checkouts are available to students on a first-come, first-served basis (equipment reservations are not accepted at the OUGL office location). For specific questions regarding same-day equipment availability, please text 206-685-6090.
Shipping
If located outside the City of Seattle, UPS shipping is available for select items from the Kane (KNE) office location. Shipping is offered to student residential addresses within the US (City of Seattle, PO Boxes, and international addresses will not be accepted). After making an online equipment reservation, students may submit a shipping request by completing the STLP Contact Form.
Shipping requests for enrolled students will not be accepted after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15 and all return shipments must be dropped off at a UPS location by 5 p.m. on Friday, December 18.
Note: Not all equipment items are eligible for shipping – ineligible items must be claimed or returned in person.
