Frequently Asked Questions

The program is funded by the Services & Activities Fee (SAF) as well as the Student Technology Fee (STF) which are included in the cost of quarterly tuition. So long as you are enrolled for the current academic quarter, you may participate in the program at no additional charge. Fees will apply if the equipment is damaged, lost or stolen while in your possession.

Both UW Bothell and UW Tacoma maintain their own equipment loan programs and, as such, students enrolled at those campuses are not eligible to borrow equipment through STLP.

Please call 206-685-6090 for exact equipment availability and to schedule an appointment as necessary. Walk-ins will be accommodated to the best of our ability; however, equipment inventory may be limited.

Please review the loan period indicated at the point of making your equipment reservation. All equipment items at all office locations are made available for 10-day, 30-day, or quarter-long loan periods. Otherwise, please ask program staff at the point of equipment checkout.

Short Extensions may be granted on a case-by-case basis with advance notice. Please submit your extension request to stlp@uw.edu or call/text 206-685-6090 at least seven (7) business days prior to the equipment due date. Extension requests without sufficient notice or justification will not be considered.

STLP is no longer offering reservation renewals as it adversely impacts subsequent reservations/students. To review the due date of your equipment, you may view your current bookings online.
