Starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, students will have the ability to reserve Student Technology Loan Program (STLP) equipment via a new reservation system: Cheqroom. With the migration to Cheqroom, STLP policies have changed as follows:
- Advance Reservations: All equipment items at Health Sciences (HSI), Husky Union (HUB) and Kane (KNE) office locations are available on a rolling basis up to thirty (30) calendar days in advance. Blackouts include all UW holidays and break periods when STLP offices are closed.
- Same-Day Checkouts: In-person, same-day equipment checkouts are available exclusively at the Odegaard Library (OUGL) office location. Same-day equipment checkouts are available to students on a first-come, first-served basis (equipment reservations are not accepted at the OUGL office location).
- Flexible Loan Periods: All equipment at all office locations are available for loan periods between one (1) and thirty (30) calendar days. Exact checkout and return dates are selected during the reservation process.
- Extensions: Equipment checkouts may be eligible for one (1) extension of up to thirty (30) days within the same academic quarter. At the discretion of the program, extension requests are approved based on meeting eligibility requirements as well as equipment availability. Approved extension requests will not be scheduled beyond the last day of the current academic quarter.
- Breaks: Equipment checkouts spanning quarterly break periods are subject to proof of enrollment for the following academic quarter and are not eligible for extension. Equipment must be returned on or before the scheduled return date.
- Item Limit: At the discretion of the program, checkouts may be limited to a maximum of ten (10) items based on equipment availability.
Equipment reservations and checkouts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Only one (1) item of each equipment type may be checked out at any given time. Reservations containing multiple items of the same equipment type will not be honored. Additionally, future reservations for the same equipment type that overlap with an existing checkout will be rescheduled until existing items have been returned.
